1. VANCOUVER FOOD BANK

This Seva is conducted once a Month on the date specified in the monthly calendar,  at the 1150, Raymur Avenue, Vancouver, Tel: 604-876-3601. This Seva involves sorting and packaging of food at the central warehouse for all of Vancouver’s food bank locations. Centre members attend this in groups of 10 to 15 members.

2. POWELL STREET NARAYANA SEVA

The Living Room’ at 528 Powell Street, Vancouver.  Our Sai Centre has scheduled groups that do this Seva on a monthly basis. We make hot meals for these mentally challenged and/or less fortunate people, volunteering one to two times per month throughout the year. We feed approximately 150 to 200 people at a sitting.

3. SANDWICH MAKING

On the 2nd Sunday of every month between 10.00 am to 11.30 am, our Sai Centre makes 1000 sandwiches to give to the Sisters of Atonement Church and ‘The Door is Open,’ for distribution to the less fortunate.

4. BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

The Sai Centre encourages its members to donate blood as often as possible. We do group blood donations every 52 days.This year the Sai Baba blood donation group has been established with the Canadian Blood Services “Partners for Life Program.” This means that a Sai member can donate blood anytime throughout the year in Sai Baba’s name. Our donation numbers get aggregated and displayed at the blood bank and all its locations as “Sathya Sai Baba Group Donations.” Please call the Seva Coordinator for any further questions on Group Blood Donations.

5. WOMEN’S CLOTHING COLLECTION AND DISTRIBUTION

This consists of quarterly sorting and delivery of used clothing, toys and small household items to the women’s shelter. This shelter location also acts as a storage depot for used clothing and household items that are provided to other service organizations for people in need.
