Spiritual Activities

Devotional Group Singing (Bhajans) The members of the Sai Centre meet several times every week at the Centre to sing devotional songs in praise of God called Bhajans. These songs are sung in several languages such as Sanskrit, Hindi, English, Japanese and Chinese. The English, Japanese and Chinese groups meet on separate days to sing these bhajans in their specific language.  For more details please see the Monthly Calendar of Sai Activities.

Meditation Swami has instructed all devotees to daily set aside time for meditation and prayers. While members may practice these spiritual guidelines on their own time, at the centre every bhajan session ends with guided jyoti (light) meditation. We also have weekly meditation sessions as well as some organized meditation workshops

Study Circle The members meet on the last Sunday of the month to discuss spiritual topics in a group discussion setting coordinated by a facilitator. See the Monthly Calendar for further details.

Guest Lectures The centre invites guest speakers from various Sai Centres across North America to speak to the devotees. Topics usually cover personal Experiences, Sai teachings, spiritual workshops, etc.

Annual Retreat The Centre usually has an annual summer retreat. Venue and dates are announced on the calendar once they are finalized.

Walk For Values The Walk for Values is held in the month of May during which all BC Sai Centres participate to spread Sai’s message on the importance of Values in today’s world. The details and venue are posted on the calendar as soon as they are available.

Chinese Devotional Group This group meets at the Centre every 1st Monday of the month, 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm

The Chinese devotional group was formed in 1996 with the help of a few long time members of the Sai Center. A good selection of Chinese books and bhajan tapes were donated and ordered from Singapore, Malaysia and Hongkong. We hold two meetings a month, on the 1st Monday and the 3rd Monday at 7.30 pm. Our group has approximately 30 members and we participate in the Centre activities, such as educational, spiritual and community service. Our first monthly meeting is usually a lecture given by a guest speaker or a member of the Sai organization, expounding Sai teachings and/or sharing personal experiences.  The second meeting is either a study circle, discussing various topics, or bhajan practice. Both Cantonese/Mandarin and English language are used. For more info, please contact:
